 68th Annual B.A.B.A. Grand Championship Game
 Clintonville captures
          B.A.B.A. Title
     The
          Clintonville A's scored ten times in the seventh inning to break open
          a close game Sunday as they downed Elderon 13-7 to win their 13th
          B.A.B.A. Grand Championship. The game was played in Don
          Jirschele Stadium at W.A. Olen Park in Clintonville. It was Elderon's
          fifth runner up finish in as many tries.     Elderon
          drew first blood in the title game taking a 2-0 lead in the top of
          the third. Mike Lehman opened the frame with a leadoff double and
          Kasey Morgan followed with an RBI double. After a sac bunt, Morgan
          scored on Marv Meronk's sac fly.     Clintonville
          scored a run of their own in the bottom of the frame as Ryan Ebert
          was hit by a pitch, moved to second on a sacrifice, stole third and
          scored on John Dunlavy's ground out.     Elderon
          upped their margin to 4-1 when Marv Meronk singled, stole second and
          scored on Brandon Groshek's single. After Matt Meronk reached on an
          error, Groshek scored on Justin Meronk's single.     Clintonville
          scored twice in the bottom of the frame to cut the Whiskey Jacks lead
          to 4-3. Jared Westphal reached on an error to open the inning and
          Griffin wiley followed with a base hit. After a walk to Ryan Ebert
          loaded the bases, John Dunlavy belted a two-run double.     Elderon
          upped their margin to 5-3 in the top of the seventh when Shawn
          Kerstner reached second on an outfield error by the A's. Brandon
          Groshek followed with an RBI double.     Then
          came the A's half of the seventh when they plated 13 batters scoring
          10 times to take the lead and basically put things away for good.
          With two outs, Dean Muthig and Jesse Wiley hit back-to-back singles.
          Mack Shingler then delivered a two-run single to knot the score a
          5-all. Aaron Everts followed with a single and Jared Westphal then
          delivered an RBI single. Griffin Wiley drove in two more with double
          and Ryan Ebert added an RBI single. After a Garrick Morgan walk, John
          Dunlavy drove in another run with a single and Dean Muthig ended the
          onslaught with a three-run homer to right center.     Elderon
          added a pair of runs in the eighth when Justin Meronk and Troy
          Leiskau banged back to back singles and scored on Randy Printz's
          2 RBI hit.     John
          Dunlavy was the winning pitcher. He scattered 15hits, fanned three
          and didn't walk a batter. Rick Boda, first of three Elderon pitchers
          took the loss. Marv Meronk and Shawn Kerstner also tossed for the
          Whiskey Jacks. They allowed 12 hits, fanned 6 and walked five.     John
          Dunlavy, the game's Most Valuable Player, led the A's offense going 2
          for 5 with a double and four RBI. Dean Muthig was also 2 for 5 with a
          home run and three RBI. Griffin Wiley was 2 for 4 with a double and
          two RBI. Mack Shingler was 2 for 4 with two RBI. Ryan Ebert, Jesse
          Wiley, Aaron Everts, and Jared Westphal each had one hit for the
          A's.     Shawn
          Kerstner, Brandon Groshek, Matt Meronk, Justin Meronk, and Troy
          Leiskau all had two hits for Elderon. Kasey Morgan, Groshek
          and Mike Lehman all legged out doubles. Randy Printz and
          Marv Meronk each had two RBI, while Kasey Morgan, Brandon Groshek and
          Matt Meronk each drove in a run.     Elderon
          left ten men on base while Clintonville stranded seven runners.     Each
          team committed three errors in the contest.     Following
          the game awards were presented by B.A.B.A. Comissioner Craig Brei and
          Sec./Treas. Gordy Boldig.
